Reimagine your break.

Community Partnerships
Students will collaborate with organizations including:
- Bounty & Soul and Root Cause Farm – supporting food distribution, farm work, and community gardening.
- Asheville Poverty Initiative – engaging in conversations about poverty and equity, and participating in initiatives like the 12 Baskets Café, which transforms surplus food into opportunities for shared meals and community building.
Reflective Learning
Reflection is at the heart of the Alternative Break experience. Through daily group discussions, journaling, and guided activities, students will:
- Connect hands-on service to broader social issues.
- Explore their own values and perspectives on poverty, justice, and equity.
- Identify ways to apply their learning back on campus and in their communities.
This program is available for CURRENT Central Piedmont Students that demonstrate the drive to give back to our state community, open to learn and reflect. Lodging, meals, and local transportation are included.
